Benjamin Bidlack is an award-winning composer and music producer. He grew up in Washington, D.C. performing on piano and drums with his father – a composer, classical/jazz pianist and multi-instrumentalist who took him to hear classical, jazz and rock acts in D.C. nightclubs starting at age 8: Oscar Peterson, Quincy Jones, Maurice White (Founder of Earth Wind & Fire) and others. To this day, jazz, soul and funk hold a special place in his heart and in his music.
Ben studied and performed classical and popular music at St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH, Haverford College and Stanford University, where he earned his MBA.
He has produced music for feature film, episodic TV, movie trailers, commercial artists, and live shows, including producer Jerry Bruckheimer, supermodel Tyra Banks, Disney, Nike, ABC, Apple, Warner Brothers, Fox Searchlight, Universal Pictures and others.
Ben lives in West Los Angeles and Las Vegas. A former tennis and squash pro, he plays golf whenever he can (current handicap 7), and now loves disc golf (yes, golf with special frisbees – it’s pathetic) as much as other sports.

“‘Butterfly’ is reminiscent of a quality from a time long since passed – somebody mentioned Earth Wind & Fire and that’s right where I go as well. It’s a jam. It’s a great standalone piece, a great quality piece of music. It’s perfect for urban-based films and TV but it’s also just an across-the-board great track. It’s something I’d feel really comfortable putting it in front of a director, as with his other music as well.”

“‘At Freedom Group Exercise, our workouts are built on the foundation of the musicality Ben brings to every track, every genre, and his original creations inspire clients to move. I go to his music over and over for inspiration as a choreographer. Our 800-song library, authored by Ben, under the handle “DJ FREEDOM” is enjoyed by our clients in classes and studios across the US and around the world. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for music.”
